SouthPaws Grooming Agreement
2022 Update

SouthPaws would like to assure you that every effort will be made to make your dog's grooming experience as safe and pleasant as possible. Safety comes first for everyone, employees as well as the animals, during the grooming process.

Cancelation & No Show Policy

Our groomers are paid by commission, so when you cancel last minute or no show, they do not get paid. We require a 24-hour-cancellation notice in order for us to fill that spot with another groom. When booking as a new customer, we will have you provide a card number to run on the day of the appointment for a $50 charge if you do not give us advance notice of cancellation.

Accidents - Health or Medical Problems - Veterinarian Authorization
Grooming equipment is sharp, and although we use caution and care in all situations, possible incidents could occur including cuts, nicks, scratches, quicking of nails, etc.. Your pet’s safety and comfort is our number one priority. In the event an accident does occur, you will be notified of the accident. If SouthPaws feels it is serious, and the owner is not reachable, SouthPaws will seek immediate veterinary care for your pet.

This release gives SouthPaws full authorization to seek medical treatment from the nearest veterinarian in the case of any medical emergencies while in our care. All veterinarian costs and expenses will be the responsibility of the animal's owner.

Occasionally, grooming can expose a hidden medical problem or aggravate a current one. This can occur during or after grooming. All medical expenses for veterinary care will be covered by the animal's owner upon signing this agreement.

Current Vaccinations
Pets must be up to date on Rabies and Distemper. We strongly recommend that they are current on Bordetella as we are also a daycare and boarding facility.  Please email or bring a copy of the vaccinations for our records.

Fleas/Ticks/Skunk Smell
If your pet has any fleas and or have been skunked, they will be given a special treatment bath at your expense of $10. If you do not want them to receive one, you can reschedule your appointment after the problem is taken care of.

Dangerous or Aggressive Animals - Refusal of Service
SouthPaws has the right to refuse any services at any time. In the event that your animal is too stressed or becomes dangerous to groom, SouthPaws has the right to refuse grooming services, stop grooming services, or cancel grooming services at any time before, during, or after grooming and client will be charged a grooming fee (for what was done up until that point). This is for the safety of the dogs and groomers.

Matted Coats
Dogs with severely matted coats require extra attention. Mats in a pet’s coat grow tight, and can ultimately damage and tear the pet's skin. Mats can be very difficult to remove, and may require the pet to be shaved. Removing a heavily matted coat can cause nicks, cuts or abrasions. Heavy matting can also trap moisture allowing bacteria to grow, producing skin irritations that existed prior to the grooming process.

After-effects of mat removal procedures can include itchiness, skin redness, and irritations or abrasions. Scheduling regular grooming appointments, every 4-6 weeks, can help prevent this. If your pet needs to be shaved to remove matting, by signing below, you acknowledge that you agree to this procedure, and any risk. There will be an additional charge for this process: it is time consuming, and causes extra wear and tear on grooming equipment. The additional charge can be estimated by the groomer prior to the appointment.

In cases of extreme matting, our groomers may refuse to perform the service and recommend that your dog be taken to a veterinarian to be shaved. This is for the dog and the groomer’s safety as matting is serious and can be dangerous to work with.

Satisfaction
Your satisfaction is important to us. If you are unhappy for any reason, and would like something adjusted, we will be happy to make any adjustments when you pick-up your pet from his/her appointment. Once, however, you take your pet home from the appointment, any return visits will be treated as a new appointment and the client will be charged a grooming fee.

Photographs
Photographs or other graphics, sound, or other images, likeness, recording, etc., may be made of my dog(s) by SouthPaws and that such may be used for any purpose without compensation, and I release to SouthPaws all rights that I may possess or claim to such image, likeness, recording, etc.
